Sanjeev Kumar, Esq.

Sanjeev Kumar, a founding member of HPK, brings a vast wealth of experience in the tech industry to the table in his role as Managing Principal. Prior to practicing law, Sanjeev co-founded Portal Player, a semiconductor startup, and grew it into a NASDAQ listed company that was responsible for integral portions of the first seven generations of Apple iPods. Sanjeev's experience includes three decades of involvement with personal computer and consumer electronics device design and development; system architecture design; embedded firmware and system software, and related technical and business management. For years, Sanjeev has been on the cutting edge of technological innovation, with more than a decade devoted to the design, development, and implementation of next-generation PC systems and PC system architectures. He has experience in both the engineering and legal sides of the innovation and patent process, equipping him to best assist clients through all stages of the patent licensing and prosecution processes. His past management and executive experience makes him an invaluable asset to his business and corporate clients.

Sanjeev also has a high value for civic engagement and has donated his time as a city council member for the city of Lakeway since 2019. Sanjeev also serves his community through participating in committees dedicated to bettering various aspects of the city, including zoning, urban development and planning, economic development and maintaining clean and enjoyable public spaces.

When he is not assisting clients with their legal matters or volunteering for his city, Sanjeev can be found honing his skills on the golf course, traveling or exploring the ever-expanding Austin food scene.
